Plain-English guides on annual filings, deadlines, and what to expect by state.

We’re building out detailed guides for every state we serve. Until then, here are quick orientation notes to help you understand what your state typically asks for.

The basics

  • Annual vs. biennial: some states require a filing every year, others every two years. Your state’s cadence is set by statute, not by us.
  • Due dates: often tied to your formation anniversary or a fixed calendar date. We surface yours in the wizard.
  • What changes can be reported: registered agent, principal address, officers/members. Some changes (like converting entity type) require a different filing.
  • Public record: most information you submit becomes public record at the state level.
